Knitting With My Granddaughter

As I get older the things that make me happy and give me peace get simpler, like when I was this age. This beautiful little girl is Brenin, my 6-going-on-40-year-old Granddaughter.  Once a week I get to spend time with this sweet thing, and she is ready to soak up anything I send her way.

Today she decided she would learn how to knit.  It didn't take her long, and she was doing it all on her own.  She is knitting a scarf for "a poor person with a cold neck". (wink)

Brenin's goal is to be a world-changer.  She has the innocence to believe she can do it, the heart to make her want to and the determination to actually carry it off.  I am so proud to get to participate in this whole process.  She inspires me to be more than I would be on my own.  It is so great to look at things through her eyes.  Actually, she's sure changing my world.

  1. So sweet...that girl's changing my world too, and I know you're changing her's. I know if given the choice of going to Grandma & Grandpa's or Disneyland, there would be no contest and her bag would be packed for G&G's. She's so lucky to have an amazing grandma who teaches her to knit and watches Abott & Costello with her and all of the other wonderful things you do together. Precious moments!

  2. If everyone took time to look at the world through the eyes of a child, our world would be so much better!

  3. Awwww, she is precious!! Someday, I'm gonna get me one of those. I hope it is a girly girl because I never had one of those. My wonderful daughter was all about frogs and dirt. Enjoy her!!
