Parchment Paper for Quilting

Parchment paper can be used as an appliqué pressing sheet when layering appliqué pieces with fusible web. The fusible doesn't permanently stick to the parchment paper, so you can press pieces together and then lift off the units to be put on your fabric background. Use an additional sheet on the top, and you will avoid getting fusible residue on the bottom of your iron.

You can also protect your ironing board cover with parchment paper when spray starching. This keeps the ironing board cover clean and avoids any starch buildup or scorching.

Parchment paper is available in your grocery store and is very inexpensive.
